ECE4110 Test 1 Summary Test 1 is on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006.

 

The exam is open book and open notes. You will want to bring a calculator and all handouts/texts. You are not allowed to bring in any old exams or handwritten copies/notes of old exam problems/solutions.

 

You are not allowed to use the computer in the classroom during the test. Cell phones must be turned off and not be placed on your desk.

 

All topics that we have covered and things that you have done in the lab are fair game for the exam.

Stevens Unix Network Programming Book Chapters 1,2,3,4,5, and 8 as covered in class,

 

Readings from Forouzan: pp. 43-49, Chapters 4, 5, 6 , 7, 8, 11, and pp. 783-786.

 

Lab 1: Installing Linux

Lab 2 and 3: TCP and UDP Traffic Generators (You need to bring your source code)

Lab 4: Network Traffic Analyzers and Other tools

Old exams, which you may use as practice problems, are on the class web site. The material covered this semester may be different from previous semesters, so the material this test covers may come from previous test 1's and also somewhat from previous test 2's.
